Borderless Advisory operates from Europe. This page explains what data this website collects, why, and how it's handled. This is a plain-language summary, not a formal legal certification.

What data is submitted

The contact form asks for your name, work email, company, role, target market(s), the type of support you need, budget and timeline, and a free-text message. All fields beyond name, email, company and message are optional. Submitting the form requires ticking a consent checkbox confirming you're okay with that data being processed as described on this page.

Purpose and legal basis

Submitted data is used only to respond to your enquiry — to understand what you need and follow up. It is not sold, shared with third parties for marketing, or used for anything beyond running this business. The legal basis for processing it is your consent (given via the form's checkbox) and Borderless' legitimate interest in responding to enquiries directed at it.

Where your enquiry is stored

A contact-form submission is sent to Marijn by email (via Resend, see below) and, where configured, also recorded as a row in a private Google Sheet used as a simple lead list — set up via a Google Apps Script Web App, not the general Google Workspace product suite. Google acts as a data processor for that row; Google's standard contractual terms apply to any transfer of data outside the EU/EEA. The sheet is not shared beyond what's needed to run this business.

Article notifications

At the foot of each playbook and insights article there's an optional sign-up to be emailed when something new is published. It asks for one thing — your email address — and requires you to tick a consent box, which is the legal basis for holding it. The address is used for exactly that and nothing else: no marketing sequence, no sharing, no sale, and no profiling. It is recorded by being emailed to Marijn via Resend (see below), not stored in a separate marketing platform. Ask at any time and it's deleted — or avoid giving it at all and use the RSS feed instead, which requires no personal data and reveals nothing about you.

Analytics and attribution

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-conscious, cookie-free analytics tool that reports aggregate traffic, referrers and approximate geography — it does not track you individually across other sites. Separately, the site captures first-party acquisition data (how you arrived — e.g. search, a specific campaign link, or a referring site) in your browser's local storage, so that if you submit the contact form, that context can be attached to your enquiry. This data alone does not identify you — it becomes linked to your identity only if you submit the form.

The site also offers optional Google Analytics 4, which does use cookies. It only loads if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner — if you decline or don't respond, the Google Analytics script never loads at all, not just that its data goes unrecorded. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

Embedded video

Some case studies link to video hosted on YouTube. Nothing is requested from Google until you press play: the still image you see beforehand is served from this site, and the player is only loaded — from youtube-nocookie.com — after you click. If you never press play, no request reaches Google and no cookie is set. Once you do, YouTube's own terms apply to that playback.

Email provider

Enquiry notifications and automated acknowledgments are sent via Resend, a transactional email provider. Your email address is processed by Resend solely to deliver these messages.

Site assistant

The site offers an optional chat assistant. It is an AI assistant, not Marijn, and it only starts when you open it and type something. What you type is sent to Anthropic, which provides the language model that generates the reply, and is processed solely to produce that reply. Anthropic acts as a data processor for it.

Conversations are not stored on this site, are not saved to the lead list, and are not emailed to Marijn — closing the tab ends the conversation and nothing is kept. The assistant cannot book, send or save anything on your behalf, so if you want to reach Marijn, use the /contact form or /book. Please don't paste confidential business information, personal data about other people, or credentials into it; keep that for a call.

Scheduling provider

If you book a call via the /book page, that request is handled by Calendly, subject to its own privacy terms.

Country Check tool

The /research/country-check tool sends the country you select to this site's own server, which queries the World Bank's public Open Data API to fetch GDP, growth and governance figures. No personal data is involved in using this tool.

Retention

Enquiry emails are retained in Marijn's inbox, and CRM sheet rows (where configured) in that private sheet, for as long as reasonably needed to manage the business relationship — typically no more than a few years after the last contact, after which stale rows are deleted. No separate marketing database beyond that sheet is maintained.

Your rights

You can ask what data has been collected about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by contacting hello@borderlessadvisory.marijnbooman.com.

No unnecessary tracking

This site does not use invasive advertising trackers, browser fingerprinting, or attempt to deanonymize anonymous visitors.

This site uses an optional analytics cookie to understand traffic. Cloudflare's privacy-first analytics runs regardless and never uses cookies. Privacy policy
