AI in the Commercial Team
Put AI where it genuinely helps a commercial team — research, analysis, first drafts — and keep judgment where it belongs.
What you get
- A map of the team's commercial workflows, marked for what AI can accelerate and what it cannot
- A working method for AI-assisted research: sourcing, cross-checking, and showing gaps as gaps
- The judgment boundary, written down — which calls stay with people, and why
- Worked examples run on the team's own live questions
- A short internal write-up the team can follow without me
Questions this answers
- Where does AI actually help a commercial team?
- First-pass market scans, pulling and cross-checking structured data, and draft analysis ready for review in hours rather than weeks. That is the same split this practice runs on, described on the About page, not a projection of what the technology might do.
- What should stay a human decision?
- Which signals actually matter for this market, this company and this timing; what is missing from the data and where that needs a phone call instead of a query; and the call on whether to move, and how. The boundary gets written down, because an unwritten one moves quietly.
- How do we know the output is right?
- By making sourcing part of the method: every figure traces to a named source, and anything missing is shown as missing rather than estimated. The two free tools on this site are built that way and are the worked example — the research pages say which source each number comes from and what year it is published for.
- Is this a software project?
- No. Nothing is built, trained or integrated. The output is how the team works — its workflows, its method and its judgment boundary — which is why it is a short engagement rather than a build.
- Will you recommend tools?
- Only incidentally. The engagement is about the workflow and the method; the tooling market moves faster than any recommendation would stay true, and a tool list is not what makes AI-assisted research trustworthy.
What this is not
- Not software development, model training or systems integration — Borderless is not a software engineering agency.
- Not a tool procurement or vendor-selection exercise.
- Not an "AI strategy" deck. The output is how the team works next week.
- Not a claim that AI replaces commercial judgment. The whole point of the engagement is to draw that line deliberately rather than by accident.
- Not legal, tax or regulated professional advice. Borderless does not provide formal legal, tax or regulated professional advice unless a qualified third-party specialist is explicitly involved.
